4th May 2003 Windsurfing: Golf Course Car Park, Borth Wind Direction: S Wind Stength: 15-20 knots Surf / Sea State: 3-4 foot surf Air Temperature: 12C Sea Temperature: 10C Weather: Overcast Max Speed: Distance Covered: The day started as usual on windy sundays with a big fry up in the Limit Cafe. Steve and I then walked back and forth to the beach a few times waiting for the wind to fill in properly and eventually drove around to the Golf Course Car Park around midday. The Boardwise guys were all already out with 6.3(ish) sails and big wave boards, but seemed to be struggling with not enough wind most of the time. I rigged my 5.7m sail anyway and got out there but there just wasn't enough. It soon picked up though and we ended up having a good session. Ben was out with his 5.3m Steve with his 6.2m and Ian and Stevebus were out too. The Flying Scotsman was out with his kite again and Derek went out kite-surfing later. The wind filled in loads in the afternoon and I ended up overpowered. I was going to change down to my 5.0m and wave board, but didn't as it was still a little gusty on the inside and I didn't want to get caught underpowered in front of the now pretty big waves. I made some big jumps and bailed out of some very big ones!! One in particualr was pretty impressive. Every one had a good time, but not quite as good as yesterday as the winds were a litle gusty and it was dificult to get somfortable and relaxed. |
